A blow for Cole Hamels today -- team doctors confirmed he will miss 1-2 weeks with a tender shoulder. Hamels suffered the injury throwing a pitch. Although officials from the Boston Red Sox are confident he'll make a full recovery, doubts will persist about Hamels's ability to return fully fit with an injury of this nature.
This season-to-date Hamels has 21 wins and 10 losses and a 2.55 ERA.

| Wednesday, August 26th, 2009: Angels Blank Rangers--Valiquette at His Best
He was dynamite today and just blew the opposition away. Philippe-Alexandre Valiquette of the AZL (ANA) Angels parlayed an exploding fastball, quick-moving slider, and changing speeds into a 3-hit shutout over the Rangers, recording 1 strikeout and 3 bases on balls. "He was pure nasty with a capital N on the mound. He certainly was king of the hill against us," said the AZL (TEX) skipper during his postgame press conference.
