"Don't believe everything you hear." was the word from the team's ownership group after rumors of Chad Durbin wanting out of Texas surfaced late yesterday. No one knows exactly how this news broke and Durbin laughed it off when told of the story. | | Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009: Texas's Blanton in Shutout Victory Joe Blanton was sneaky fast, on the mark and hard to hit today. He blanked the Seattle Mariners 9-0 on 2 hits and had 3 walks and 8 strikeouts.
"You know what he's going to throw. You know what to expect. And you still can't hit it," the Seattle skipper told reporters after the shutout loss to the Texas Rangers.
"He just had a real deceiving fastball today and he was throwing it for strikes."
To this point in the season Blanton has 5 wins and 17 losses and a 5.34 ERA. | | Tuesday, September 1st, 2009: Last Week's Star in AZL: Jose Flores--Second Baseman Runs up .500 Average to Earn Kudos What a week it was for Jose Flores! The AZL (CHN) second baseman took Arizona League Player of the Week honors after tearing up the league with a .500 batting average in his recent games. Flores registered 7 hits in 14 at-bats, cracked 2 home runs, drove in 5 runs, and crossed home plate 3 times. It was a great week for him to remember . . . and for enemy pitchers to forget.
