It was a season to remember for Félix Sigmond. He was one of the most dangerous men in league when he had a bat in his hand and the Gulf Coast League announced today that he had won the Outstanding Hitter Award for the year 2007.
The GCL (DET) first baseman shellshocked opposing moundsmen with a .368 batting average, 12 doubles, no triples, 18 home runs and 60 RBIs while compiling a .419 on-base percentage and scoring 48 runs.
The annual SBWA awards banquet is this weekend. All of the major award winners will be there to be honored for their outstanding achievements this past season.

_Twins.png) | Monday, September 17th, 2007: GCL (MIN) Ace Takes Outstanding Pitcher Award
Greg Stevenson had a sensational 2007 season in the Gulf Coast League. The GCL (MIN) pitching machine received the most votes and has been proclaimed this year's Outstanding Pitcher Award recipient.
This season Stevenson starred with an impressive 9 and 1 record. In 11 starts he gave up 82 base hits and struck out 40 in 79.2 innings with a 2.94 ERA.
The SION Baseball Writers Association will honor all of the award winners this weekend at its annual meeting.
