Wednesday, September 23rd, 2009: Mayle Nabs APPY Outstanding Hitter Award
Gregg Mayle and his traveling hit parade made numerous stops all over the Appalachian League this year. The ball was really flying off his bat as he put together a .356 batting average. Today he claimed the much-coveted 2009 Outstanding Hitter Award.

He hit his way to an award-winng season with these stats: 39 walks, .434 OBP, 101 hits, 1 home run, 33 RBIs and 58 runs scored.

For being named the APPY's #1 hitter Mayle will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend.
Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009: Jerom Grabs APPY Outstanding Pitcher Award
Emmanuel Jerom of the Elizabethton Twins was on top of his game the entire 2009 regular season, capping it off with the Appalachian League Outstanding Pitcher Award.

He was outstanding in 15 starts with 12 wins and 1 loss, 105 IP, 88 strikeouts and an impressive 2.74 ERA.

This weekend Jerom will be honored by the SION Baseball Writers Association at its annual awards dinner.
Monday, September 21st, 2009: APPY Announces Best Glovemen for 2009
The votes are in and the most outstanding defensive players have been picked. The official pronouncement will be made tonight at SION headquarters at the annual sports banquet. This year's Appalachian League Glove Wizard Award honorees are:
