Saturday, September 26th, 2009: Super Season, Vanburen Wins Outstanding Hitter Award
The Northwest League Outstanding Hitter Award has been picked for 2009 and the winner was GCL (MIN) second baseman Bill Vanburen.

He finished his outstanding season with a .352 batting average, 185 hits, 9 home runs, 135 RBIs, .417 OBP and 88 runs scored.

This weekend the SBWA will host its annual awards dinner and all of the major winners will be there to receive their trophies for their outstanding achievements this past season.
Friday, September 25th, 2009: Tardif Named NWL Outstanding Pitcher Award Winner
Larry Tardif had a sensational 2009 season in the Northwest League. The Everett pitching machine received the most votes and has been proclaimed this year's Outstanding Pitcher Award recipient.

This season Tardif starred with a 20-5 record. In 30 starts he gave up 188 base hits and struck out 210 in 215.2 innings with a 2.42 ERA.

The SION Baseball Writers Association will honor all of the award winners this weekend at its annual meeting.
Thursday, September 24th, 2009: NWL Honors 2009 Glove Wizard Award Winners
SION has selected the top glovemen in the Northwest League and they will be recognized as the best at their position at the annual sports awards banquet tonight. The 2009 Glove Wizard Award winners in the Northwest League are:


Pitcher: Yoshimi Kamuta (AZL (MIL) Brewers)
Catcher: Ernie McAlear (Eugene Emeralds)
First Baseman: Cidro Ardon (Yakima Bears)
Second Baseman: Alfonso Zegobia (AZL (MIL) Brewers)

Shortstop: Jason Taylor (AZL (MIL) Brewers)
Left Fielder: Cameron Coughlan (GCL (MIN) Twins)
Center Fielder: Kyung-won Yun (Yakima Bears)
