Saturday, October 10th, 2009: NYP Top Hitter, 2009 Choice Is Santos
It was quite a season to remember for A J Santos. He was one of the most lethal weapons in the league when he stepped up to the plate. For his fine season the New York-Penn League announced today that Santos was the Outstanding Hitter Award winner for the year 2009.

The Tigers first baseman bombarded opposing moundsmen with a .326 batting average, 24 doubles, 1 triple, 26 home runs and 97 RBIs while compiling a .447 on-base percentage and scoring 92 runs.

For being named the NYP's best batter Santos will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend.
Friday, October 9th, 2009: Williams Triumphs in Outstanding Pitcher Award Voting
The New York-Penn League announced the winner of the Outstanding Pitcher Award for 2009.
It went to Dave Williams of Aberdeen.

He made 29 starts and rang up 195 innings, 178 strikeouts, 2.63 ERA and held others teams to a .248 batting average.

The SBWA will honor all of the award winners this weekend at its annual meeting.
Thursday, October 8th, 2009: NYP Presents Glove Wizard Awards for 2009
"Flashing the leather," "good with the glove," and "good D" are ways to describe baseball players who play good defense. Tonight the most dependable gloves in the New York-Penn League will be honored at this year's annual SION sports awards banquet. Glove Wizard Awards will be presented to these top-notch defenders:

First Baseman: Inocente Caracheo (Lake County Captains)
Second Baseman: Bob Armstrong (Buffalo Bisons)
Third Baseman: Palb Garraduillo (Tri-City Valley Cats)
Shortstop: Henry Alberto Johnson (Batavia Muckdogs)
Left Fielder: Abdullah Batteri (State College Spikes)
Center Fielder: Winsto Gonzalez (State College Spikes)
Right Fielder: Jack Barker (Jamestown Jammers)
