 | Thursday, September 24th, 2009: Greensboro Is 2009 Round 2 Champions It was a storybook year for the Greensboro Grasshoppers as they closed out a 4-2 series win over the Greenville Drive to claim the 2009 Round 2. They wrapped it up with a 10-6 victory to cap an incredible season and brought home their 1st championship. The Grasshoppers manager gave his view of the series, "We had a lot of things going for us, offense and defense doing it at the right time. That's what it takes win a Round 2." "We're disappointed we lost, but we're also very proud of what we did all year," said the Drive manager. "They played better baseball than us and they beat us." During the Southern Division regular season Greensboro put up a 85-55 record and finished second. |
