It was a season to remember for Agustin Kolijn. He was one of the most dangerous men in league when he had a bat in his hand and the Midwest League announced today that he had won the Outstanding Hitter Award for the year 2009.
The Beloit right fielder shellshocked opposing moundsmen with a .355 batting average, 19 doubles, 5 triples, 13 home runs and 70 RBIs while compiling a .410 on-base percentage and scoring 61 runs.
The annual SBWA awards banquet is this weekend. All of the major award winners will be there to be honored for their outstanding achievements this past season.

 | Sunday, October 4th, 2009: Evarts's Great Year Nets Outstanding Pitcher Award
The Outstanding Pitcher Award winner has been chosen and the Midwest League trophy went to Wisconsin hurler Steven Evarts for his outstanding season in 2009.
Evarts was quite impressive with a 19- 6 record and a 2.24 ERA. In 30 starts and 236.2 IP, he struck out 177 and gave up 199 hits and 62 walks. Teams hit .225 against him.
