Charlton Jimerson slapped, slashed and slugged the baseball all over Texas League ballparks to pull in a majority of the votes for the Outstanding Hitter Award for 2009.
The center fielder for Arkansas put up a .320 average as he pounded out 176 hits, 35 doubles, 7 triples, 39 home runs, 143 RBIs and scored 123 runs.
For being named the TEX's best batter Jimerson will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend.

It was a dream season for Davis Romero of Arkansas Travelers. He pitched his way to a 21-6 record and carted off the 2009 Texas League Outstanding Pitcher Award.
Working 215 innings this year Romero made 37 starts, struck out 261 and crafted a 2.43 ERA. He gave up 182 hits and 68 walks and limited other teams to a .224 average.
This weekend Romero will be honored by the SION Baseball Writers Association at its annual awards dinner.
