Major League Baseball News Article | |  | Friday, October 2nd, 2009: Espinosa On Fire! 5-6 for St. Louis! There are moments in a player's career that are etched into their memories forever. David Espinosa of the St. Louis Cardinals had one of those moments when he went 5 for 6 at the plate today in the 9-8 win over the Milwaukee Brewers at Busch Stadium.
The 27-year-old left fielder told reporters in the postgame interview, "This is a day I won't forget soon, but I'll settle to just get a hit or two every day...enough hits to hang around the league a little bit longer... like 10... 15 more years maybe."
D. Espinosa singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit an RBI single in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
So far this season Espinosa has hit .245 with 7 home runs, 36 RBIs and and scored 27 times. | |
