Friday, August 21st, 2009: Chicago (A) Second Baseman Will Miss 1-2 Weeks
The Chicago (A) White Sox were dealt a serious blow when the team learned that Brian Roberts was likely to be out for 1-2 weeks after he injured himself running the bases in today's game against the Minnesota Twins. A round of tests by the team doctors revealed the injury to be a hyperextended knee. Upon learning of their diagnosis, the Chicago (A) manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries--they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Brian is back in action."

For the year Roberts is batting .255 with 134 hits and 7 home runs. He has scored 68 times and driven in 59.
