Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009: Upton 5-5 Against Baltimore
If the Baltimore Orioles know how best to pitch the Oakland center fielder Justin Upton they didn't tip their hand today. Instead Upton showed he knew how best to hit them as he easily handled Orioles pitching, going 5 for 5 and helping the Athletics to a 3-0 triumph at McAfee Coliseum.

He told SION reporters in the postgame interview, "The way I was swinging today, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball."

The Baltimore skipper quipped, "Well, the next time we may just do that...blindfold him...and then pitch him differently, just to be sure."

J. Upton singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.

In the current season, Upton has put up a .374 batting average with 132 hits, 17 home runs, 85 RBIs and scored 85 times.
